Over the years, we've been blessed with so much great free stuff from our friends and family - especially when Lila was born. Now it's full-circle time. We're moving into a smaller place, and giving away the furniture and electronics shown here. Everything is in good shape and working condition. The pickup location is 1063 San Carlos Ave in El Granada, just north of Half Moon Bay. For directions see http://scottkim.com/directions
The stuff will be available all day today (Wednesday July 18) thru Friday morning (July 19). Stuff that's left by Friday noon will go to the dump. This is useful, functional furniture - I hope it finds it's way to someone who needs it and will enjoy it!
Here are the pieces:
1) a black laquer storage buffet; 4
drawers, 4 cabinets with adjustable shelves. perfect for a dining room
- but can be used in a living room or bedroom as well. Shown here are
several views of the storage, and the buffet in our dining room.
2) a solid-wood mission-style oak coffee table with lots of storage (6 drawers plus 1 large pass-through cabinet) -- perfect for storing games or anything else. This is a high-quality piece with a few nicks and scratches -- I wish we could keep it, but we just don't have room.
3) a collection of solid-wood light-colored furniture, perfect for a kids room.
* 2 identical 2-drawer nightstands
* 2 kids chairs
* a storage table with wheels (great next to a chair)
* a desk organizer for papers, books, pens, etc.
4) two matching chests of draeers - black and cherry veneer - perfect for storing clothes or blankets.
5) a top-condition futon frame in two-toned honey-and-light wood ( futon is also available, it's worn but serviceable
6) Harmon-Kardon electronics: tape deck and 5-CD change (we've digitized our entire music collection so we don't need these anymore)
7) A Pioneer videodisc player (for you videodisc aficianados)
I'm sad to leave this long-standing group of fine and friendly people. Gabe has grown up with these kids, and we've learned how to be parents alongside these Moms and Dads. But we'll see again, I'm sure -- and we're ready for a new adventure in LA, where I know we'll meet some wonderful new friends. And of course, we'll spend a lot of time with family, which is the whole point of moving to LA.
Speaking of which -- here's a map that shows our new home (pink marker) surrounded by the locations of our LA-based family (blue markers) and friends (green markers). As you can see, we're right smack in the middle of everyone. This is no coincidence - we chose our location specifically to be an easy drive from the Grandmas and Grandpas.
Now that school is out, Gabe likes to hangout in his pajamas most mornings -- reading, playing games, and enjoying these lazy summer days. Yesterday, Gabe and Lila cuddled up in our big comfy leather chair, and he read aloud to her from his current favorite book, "More Gross Jokes" -- a fascinating read if you're an 8-year-old boy :-) Lila was quite entertained by the whole experience - and I got some boxes packed for our upcoming move, so everyone was happy.
